Green Bean Gandasturi Recipe, a Sweet and Crunchy Traditional Snack

Filling Ingredients



  • 200 grams of peeled green beans, soak for 1 hour

  • 1,200 ml of water

  • 2 pandan leaves, summed

  • ⅛ teaspoon vanilla powder

  • 75 grams of granulated sugar

  • ⅛ teaspoon salt

  • 100 ml coconut milk

  • Sufficient cooking oil


Dyestuffs



  • 100 grams of medium protein wheat flour

  • 25 grams of rice flour

  • ½ tablespoon sago flour

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 200 ml water


How to Make Green Bean Gandasturi



  1. Boil green beans with water, pandan leaves and vanilla until tender. Once cooked, remove and mash the green beans.


  2. Put granulated sugar and salt into the mashed green beans. Add coconut milk, then cook, stirring continuously, until the mixture becomes smooth and easy to shape.


  3. Take enough green bean mixture, then shape it into a ball and flatten it. Do this until all the dough is used up.


  4. To make the dipping ingredient, mix wheat flour, rice flour, sago flour, salt and water. Stir until all ingredients are mixed evenly and there are no lumps.


  5. Dip the green bean mixture into the dipping agent until the entire surface is covered.


  6. Heat the oil, then fry the gandasturi over medium heat until the outside is brown and cooked.


  7. Remove the gandasturi and drain the oil. Serve while warm so the outer texture remains crispy.
