ZOAHARIAN.COM – Persib Bandung was immediately faced with a busy schedule at the start of the 2026/2027 season. Maung Bandung must divide its focus on the domestic competition Super League and the Asian event AFC Champions League Two (ACL 2) throughout September 2026.

No half-hearted, Persib will have four matches in one month. Two of them were the matches that attracted the most attention, namely the classic duel against Persija Jakarta and Persib's debut in the ACL 2 group phase against the South Korean club, FC Seoul.

Four Matches Await Persib in September

Persib started its 2026/2027 Super League journey by hosting PSM Makassar at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api (GBLA) Stadium, Sunday, September 6 2026.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 19.00 WIB. This home match is an opportunity for Maung Bandung to start the domestic competition with positive results.

However, the next test was much greater.

On Saturday, 12 September 2026, Persib will travel to Jakarta to face Persija Jakarta in a match known as El Clasico Indonesia.

The hot duel will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium at 15.30 WIB.

Not finished with domestic competition, Persib immediately turned its attention to Asian competition.

ACL 2 debuts in South Korea

Persib is scheduled to have its first match in the ACL 2 group phase by visiting FC Seoul headquarters.

The match will take place on Wednesday, September 16 2026 at 17.00 WIB at Seoul World Cup Stadium, South Korea.

This match is a challenge in itself for the Maung Bandung squad. Apart from having to face one of South Korea's strong clubs, Persib also has to adapt to a long journey.

The Persib group had to fly more than seven hours from Jakarta to South Korea. After the match, the team also had to make the long journey back to Indonesia.

What made the schedule even more difficult, Persib then had to continue their journey to Jepara to face Persijap.

Directly Face Persijap Jepara

Just a few days after playing the match in South Korea, Persib returned to domestic competition.

Maung Bandung is scheduled to face Persijap Jepara on Sunday, September 20 2026 at 19.00 WIB at the Gelora Bumi Kartini Stadium.

This series of matches means that Persib must be smart in maintaining the players' physical condition. Squad rotation has the potential to be one of the keys to ensuring that the team's performance remains stable amidst a busy agenda.

Persib's struggle in ACL 2 does not stop in Seoul. Maung Bandung is in Group E and will still face The Cong-Viettel FC and Melbourne Victory.
